Argh, it still didn’t happen!
It’s amazing what is working against us to get these things recorded. Sorry folks!
It’s amazing what is working against us to get these things recorded. Sorry folks!
It’s been *gasp* TWO MONTHS since our last episode. I know, we suck.
We have good reasons.
Nevertheless, we have scheduled episode 9 for this Sunday at 8:30am Central. Alex may even broadcast live on Stickam!
Call the press.
What do you mean they don’t care? Call ‘em anyway!
I’m not sure what planets had to line up for this to happen, but NO CARRIER #8 is finally here. We had slated NC8 for uhm… what… over a month and a half ago or something? But REAL LIFE kept interrupting both Whitey and Alex. Sometimes real life meant oversleeping… but… you get the picture.
On the show:
Believe it or not, we actually got NC #8 recorded this morning! That’s right… we overcame all of the forces against us… sleep… SKype… schedules… and got it in the can!
Alex is editing right now and we hope to be on target for release Tuesday morning.
We woke up and tried to record #8 this morning, but our Skype calls kept getting dropped every few minutes. For a show that operates completely over Skype, this is a deal-killer.
We then tried to do normal voice chat over AIM and look for other alternatives, but nothing came up that was quick and easy to get going. Router troubles, software problems… all of them conspired against us this morning. We’ll try again in a few days after we have a little chat with Skype.
Which one do you want first? The bad news or the good news?
The bad news?
Uh, okie. Yeah, I suppose that’s good to get it out of the way.
The planets aren’t lining up well for NO CARRIER #8 to be recorded this weekend, folks. It’s just not. Things happen. We both have day jobs. Alex’s day job is carrying him off to Denver for a conference. Whitey? Well, Whitey is traveling north for the weekend, but that’s not helping matters much.
The good news is that Alex felt so bad about this that he decided to make you an iPhone ringtone.
Yeah, that’s right. If you’re a huge fan of our theme music (and let’s face it, who isn’t!?) then you can enjoy it anytime someone calls you. Just download it right from here, unzip it and drop ‘er in your iTunes or something.
Remember… our music was done by Chris Clement of podsmack.com. Visit him and hire him! Give him some love.
Alex feels bad.
Really.
You might be wondering what happened to that weekly commitment and all. Listen on and you’ll hear all about it in Episode 7 of NO CARRIER. This puppy is so packed full of crap that it’ll make you want to punch your old lady… or, at least, Whitey will want to punch Alex. A lot of news can build up in two weeks! News, opinion and more… right here on NO CARRIER!
Special thanks to Chris Clement of podsmack.com for our kickin’ theme music! Go to podsmack.com and hire him TODAY!
Blizzard and Activision merger is official.
Google has to turn over all logs to Viacom… the SUCK.
Google releases Lively - Windows only (Whitey has tried it, sort of)
VMWare CEO’s sudden exit - Paul Maritz coming, axe and grinding stone in hand.
Absolutely AWFUL week for Apple… MobileMe launch was delayed, iPhone crashed activation servers.
Gary Krakow says the iPhone stinks.
Pixar is exploiting Disney… and Disney likes it.
Sites of the unspecified time period…
Alex: friendfeed.com
Whitey: Upcoming D&D software
My humble apologies that number seven has not been posted yet. The fact is, I simply slept right through the scheduled timeslot. That’s not like me, but still, it happens.
So we’ve rescheduled the show for Sunday morning. I don’t intend to miss this one. It’s okay though, up until this week, there wasn’t much to talk about.
That sure has changed.
Here’s the thing. It seems like if we actually say something about how proud we are that we’re doing this thing weekly, something sneaks up and bites us. I know you’ll forgive us though, because we’ve returned to feed you with Episode 6 of NO CARRIER!
On this… uhh… week’s… show… some important guy at Microsoft quit. Who cares? Blizzard proves they can still make you drool with hype. Something terribly embarrassing happens in the gaming field though - and a whole lot of people should be getting a whole lotta shame.
That and a whole lot more!
