I donāt want this to sound too harsh, but sometimes I get tagged by these Internet memes and it just grates on my nerves until theyāre raw.
What I mean to say is, of course, Iām flattered that my friends thought about me enough to actually want to know random facts about me and include me in the meme. Ā The problem is when Iām tagged with something like this, it lurks in my Inbox with a follow-up flag that waves at me every time I open my email. Ā āHey, guy. Ā Remember, thereās some folks out there that want to know all kinds of random shit about you. Ā Isnāt it time you ponied up?ā Ā Itās about as annoying as those bouncing icons in the dock that want attention. Ā āHey! Ā You! Ā Me! Ā Click me! Ā Hey! Ā Hello!ā
So just in case you are wondering if Iām conscious of the New Year⦠yes, I am. Ā Believe it or not š
I have just three resolutions this year and theyāre quite personal. Ā Iāll share them with you, intrepid reader, since you can keep a secret.
Think I can do it? Ā Who knows. Ā I have a gym membership, so Iām armed.

One of the fortunes Iāve had this year was to finally obtain a ārealā TV set to replace the small dinky tube Iāve had since I moved out of my house.Ā In case youāre wondering, thatās about 19 years ago.
Iāve not had much in the way of time this month. Iāve not had much time to do much of anything productive, let alone write here. Iāve actually spent the few writing moments that I have had on some projects invisible to the casual Galaxycow reader. Perhaps, if luck shall have it, sometime next year youāll see the fruits of that labor.
Aside from that, itās all been about the day job and the kids at night. Christmas is a crazy time for us, especially now with three kids to feed. Not just that, but right out of the holidays weāre packing most of the family up and heading out to Macworld. Iāll probably have some pictures and blog my thoughts about Macworld, but by and large Iām sure youāll stick to the sites with writers who are paid to cover it for you. Iām fine with that; Iām going to Macworld for work anyway. Who has time to do silly things like report on it?
A while back, Tony challenged me to the Flickr photo-a-day thing. I intended to do it, but never really got the time.
Iām thinking that as the holidays approach and work continues to wind down for the holidays (we passed our decision points, which is good, so weāre not in Powerpoint hell anymore), I might have more time to explore this. I need to read up on the rules and decide if I can live with taking pictures of myself. Weāll see.
What a wily month.
Not only did I have a new baby girl⦠I quit my job, signed on for a new job, got coaxed back to the old job, started the old job again and completely fell off the wagon with the gym. Ā Now here it is a month later and Iāve been working from home when Iāve not been playing Mr. Mom and Iām about to go back to the office for the first time since all of the drama.
As the parent of two children (soon to be three) and knowing the types of films that I would produce if I could ā a question came to my mind while doing the dishes tonight.
Earlier I had been engaged in working on a script for an online short that I think will just be fan-damn-tastic, but admittedly would garner quite the R rating if it were to be shown in a movie theatre. Ā Knowing that, it makes me wonder how far itās going to get around Youtube before someone finds it offensive.
Continuing my recent tradition of expressing what are likely to be fairly unpopular opinions with my peers, tonight Iām going to rag on Googleās āChromeā project and tell you why this is a Bad Idea ā¢. Ā Iāll try to keep this short (update: I failed). Ā This is considered to be a discussion starter, not a final statement. Ā Iāll probably elaborate on these discussion points on the next NO CARRIER, so be sure and give me some feedback here.
Howdy from Dallas, Texas, where a new chapter of my life could be opening up. Iām not sure why or how, but it could happen.
I am nervous but then I am not. If the interviews are all about how I function under pressure, thatās fine I guess. We shall see.
Should I keep you up to date with how the interview goes tomorrow?
Sleep now. Study in the morning.
I keep reading a lot of tweets from folks that are not much more than USA fanboys preaching the goodness of the red-blooded Yanks and how China is just a bunch of commie bastards and Iām getting pretty sick of it.
First of all, that kind of talk does nothing to help peace in the world. Ā Shut up.
