One of the fortunes Iâve had this year was to finally obtain a ârealâ TV set to replace the small dinky tube Iâve had since I moved out of my house. In case youâre wondering, thatâs about 19 years ago.
It seems some parents out there are coming out against immunization for their children. Â MSNBC has the story.
This is just fracking brilliant.  Now youâre going to let your child be put as risk for these killer diseases and expose the live bacteria to my children just because youâre some stupid-ass hippy parent who wants to be all New Age and shit?  Get a brain.  Why do you think we almost eradicated these diseases?  When was the last time you knew any children that died from these diseases?  Canât put up with a little prick to the arm?  Grow up and get responsible, dumbasses.
I keep reading a lot of tweets from folks that are not much more than USA fanboys preaching the goodness of the red-blooded Yanks and how China is just a bunch of commie bastards and Iâm getting pretty sick of it.
First of all, that kind of talk does nothing to help peace in the world. Â Shut up.
I was just installing the latest Java update on my Windows VM and noticed that it was pushing me to install OpenOffice. Not only did it offer to do this for me, it checked the box by default.
I unchecked it, then while receiving the Java update I was fed an ad on why OpenOffice is good.
The press would be eviscerating Microsoft for doing this in an update â why arenât we saying anything to Sun? Is it because theyâre ânot evilâ in some respect?
Today I ran across this post on CNN:
McLaughlin takes heat for âOreoâ comment
Add this to the mounting evidence that even Americaâs own blacks canât entirely stand the thought of Obama leading this nation; even they get racial (see the Rev. Jesse Jamesâ off-the-cuff remarks when he thought he was muted).
It seems like ever since Mrs. Clinton dropped out of the presidential bid, the racial claws have come out from every corner. Itâs like someone turned a spotlight on Obama and shouted, âOH MY GOD HEâS FUCKING BLACK! WHAT DO WE DO NOW!?!?â
While perusing through my Junk E-Mail folder this morning, I noticed an interesting-looking spammy item that invited me to an extras casting call.
Well, that wasnât the interesting part. The really interesting part was that there was a privacy policy and license attached to the email. The policy/license stated that by clicking the remove email link, I was granting the spammer to send me more spam. At least theyâre honest.
I really canât believe this hasnât been pointed out before⌠so I guess Iâll do the dirty work and try to fan the flames of rumor.
This started when I read Paul Thurrottâs latest blog post, with which I could not agree more.
Then, I decided itâs time to blog about this and see if anyone had noticed:
After reading CNN Moneyâs review of the Macbook Air, I feel itâs very important to shout it from the rooftops, since people seem to be too stupid to get to system preferences and discover it for themselvesâŚ
MACS DO HAVE A RIGHT-CLICK.
Groan.
âGateway is the first to come out with an all-in-one computer with one cable!â
âGateway is a technology leader in the industry!â
âStreamlined and beautiful!â
âIntel came to Gateway and said, âWe want to design the best all-in-one unit ever made!’â (This line was borrowed from Steve Jobsâ speech, no?)
âWe have 2GB of RAM, so itâs true multitasking!â
âItâs just built for power!â
It was pretty thick.
Dear God I have to turn this off.
iTWire â From Windows to Linux â and back again
Iâve said it before, Iâll say it again⌠the battle for the corporate desktop is fought at home. Microsoft has known this for a long time â Apple knows it too. Thatâs why Apple is sneaking up on Microsoft and theyâre just not paying attention. Theyâre too busy mucking around in other businesses that they donât belong in instead of focusing on the real business (operating systems, servers and Office).
