Wow, okie I suck. Iāve not been posting in a while, I realize this ā but to look over my Adsense and see that I had *2* page impressions yesterday? Hahahaha wow.
Sorry Iāve been MIA folks. Iāve been quite busy. This is the obligatory, āSorry my blog sucks, but Iāve not given it much attention lately.ā By the time I get to Seattle, WA this afternoon, I will have clocked in about 62 hours on the day job this week. Itās things like this that keep me away. Iām sure you understand. If you donāt understand, tough.
Slashdot | Will Microsoft Put The Colonel in the Kernel?
Just in case you had any positive thoughts about Microsoft recently, hereās a new patent application to bring you back down to Earth. Theyāve filed a patent application for an advertising architecture ā to deliver ads straight to the consumer desktop⦠integrated into the OS.
Perhaps itās just another patent for Internet Explorer and ActiveX, since that already works well for rogue advertisers.
I love the ānet. Only on the net can you say things and expect them to haunt you months, or even years later. Hell, I may be eating crow in a matter of minutes for calling Mary Jo Foley an idiot for claiming Apple licensed Exchange ActiveSync ā and Iāll be proud to do it.
Somehow though, I get the feeling that Steve Ballmer will not be so proud of this 2:20 clip when Friday rolls around.
Proving that Mary Jo Foley knows absolutely nothing about what sheās writing, she claims to have āinside informationā that Apple will announce it has licensed Exchange ActiveSync so they can hook up to Exchange servers.

Why do I say sheās an idiot?
Anyone whoās been paying attention knows that the iPhone already does POP or IMAP and Exchange supports this out of the box. Granted, it doesnāt support it well (thatās a story for another day kids), but it supports it. So, sorry Mr. IT Manager⦠come Friday, you will have those big boss cheeseheads scrambling to get their email from your Exchange server; security be damned.
This is a fantastic analysis on why Microsoft doesnāt want you to virtualize the cheaper SKUs of Vista. It reads a little like a conspiracy theory, but the bottom line is always the same. Isnāt it always?
This oneās for you, Whitey. Yeah, itās purely designed to piss you off and make you get a Mac š
Dear poor reader who ran a search with the term āis there a limit on how many delegates you can have in outlook 2003 when using rpc over httpā and ended up at my site:
The answer is yes.
Microsoft recommends you have no more than 4 delegates. They only tested Outlook with 4 delegates and you can expect to have major issues opening the delegates tab when you have anything over 7 delegates.

Digital Dave is losing his cool with Microsoft⦠again.
He really needs to pay attention to what is going on. The bell is tolling for Microsoft, folks. You can smell the shift in the air. Change in the wind.
Is Apple missing out on a desktop for tinkerers?
A few weeks ago I was chatting it up with Whitey over what could be a missed opportunity for Apple. You see, Whitey is one of those power desktop prosumers when it comes to computers. Heās like me⦠heās never been particularly interested in purchasing a branded computer. Weāve always built our computers and compared them as though they are penises:
ād00d I just got an Nvidia 666 with 666 mb of RAM.ā
Margaret Heffernan: Why Does Microsoft Hate Its Customers? ā Business on The Huffington Post
While this is a really small example of how Microsoft has been ganking up its software, the basic premise applies to a much larger scope. I echo this sentiment for Exchange, Office 2007 and Mac Office 2004 (soon to be 2008).
I can only hope people continue to wake up to how badly Microsoftās software is sucking.

OMG, the picture in this article is absolutely, positively one of the funniest things ever. Iāve been giggling like a little schoolgirl ever since.
