I have a number of technical options available for my setup. I’d like some advice on the best approach to achieve OTA HDR 4k TV… primarily for local channels. I just canceled my DirecTV because I couldn’t justify $100 a month. I didn’t use it enough. But I need your advice.
That being said, I have:
- Xbox One X
- AppleTV 4k on primary 4k 75" Samsung TV
- 75" Samsung SmartTV
- A Roku 55" SmartTV (TCL branded) in the master bedroom
- An older AppleTV on the Roku 55"
- Synology DS916+ with a Plex server and PlexTV Pass
I currently pay for a number of services such as HBO Now, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime.
I’d like to see what’s the best bang for my buck to get OTA and DVR functionality for anything else.
I’d also like to know which device would be best to use. I’m leaning toward the use of something hooked up to the Synology/Plex installation because it would seem to make the live OTA TV/DVR available in the most places for my setup.
Any advice?
