When you are going to hear a Microsoft employee dance around your the answer to your question, they will always begin the sentence with a pause… and then a little stutter… then: “So…”
Just saying.
Tonight we decided that BunBun was feeling well enough for a babysitter, so we asked Auntie Lynda to come over so we could head out to catch Spider-Man 3.
Awesome flick. Nuff said. I hope they stay away from 4, 5 and 6 – 3 just wraps up the whole set of films into a nice package, it would be a shame to try to extend something that may not be there.
That’s a loss for Microsoft – OSS Ramblings
Congratulations to Tony, who has succeeded in migrating his company off of Microsoft Exchange an onto an open source replacement. Check out his blog to see how it was pulled off.
Granted, they probably aren’t using shared calendaring much – but still, an interesting project for any small business out there.
We have…
…a very thoughtful Starbucks gift card!
…a really sexy LED watch!
…Wii!
Many thanks to my family for a lovely birthday, even if we did have to spend part of it in the emergency room.
E-mail may be hazardous to your career – May 14, 2007
This is a Fortune 500 article about how careless email can take you down. Most of this makes common sense (not that typical users have any of that), but some of it is interesting. You might want to wake up to the fact that people performing investigations will look at threads based on the subject line – so if your discussion stops involving the business at hand and starts involving bondage, you’d best change that subject line. Again… common sense.
I was chatting with Whitey tonight about the HD-DVD key postings. It occurred to me that last night had me interested and tickled because watching the net go ballistic against The Man was so very… Pump up the Volume-esque. It appealed to the teenager in me.
I think it did to everyone.
It goes without saying that tonight is a dark night in Digg’s history. When a user posted a story about the HD-DVD code and it was removed by moderators… thus began the anarchy.
I thought I could coin a term for it but… it’s just too hilarious. The open rebellion on the net tonight against corporate greed tards is just too beautiful. I can hardly wait to read all of the comments from the journalists out there in netland.
BunBun came down with what looks to be the stomach flu today. He had a temp of 101-102’F all day and was totally not himself. He was puking all day as well… couldn’t keep anything down. Poor little guy. It’s heartbreaking to see him so sick. He’s not himself at all and it just breaks you in half. We finally got some medicine in him late tonight, hope he keeps it down.
NASA rethinking death in mission to Mars – CNN.com
Interesting article about how NASA has to deal with thorny ethical issues, now that they’re considering a flight to Mars.
I did a lot of walking and exercising this past weekend. Lots. I walked for about 45 minutes yesterday, but that doesn’t include the walking during grocery shopping, etc.
